Job summary

SCIS Property Group is seeking a skilled Maintenance Handyman / Carpenter for a permanent full-time role in Newcastle. The position involves carrying out maintenance tasks, safe work practices, and maintaining records via a mobile app.

You will join a supportive team, with overtime opportunities and a strong emphasis on safety and quality workmanship. Trade certification is desirable but not essential.

Qualifications

• Experienced handyman with pride in work and safety.
• Trade Certificate in Carpentry is desirable but not essential.
• 1–2 years of commercial maintenance experience required.
• Essential skills: basic carpentry, general repairs, painting.

Responsibilities

• Carry out a variety of maintenance tasks using carpentry and related skills.
• Complete all works safely and maintain accurate notes/photos in the mobile job management app.
• Follow the pre-planned schedule managed by the office-based Service Team.
• Work independently and as part of a skilled team.
• Paid overtime opportunities available.

What You'll be Doing

Use your carpentry and general maintenance skills to carry out a variety of maintenance tasks

Complete all works safely, and maintain accurate job records like notes and photos in our mobile job management application

Not have to worry about your day - follow the pre-planned schedule managed by our office-based Service Team

Working independently and as part of a supportive, skilled team

What We're Looking For

You're an experienced handyman who takes pride in your work, values safety, and enjoys solving problems.

Trade Certificate in Carpentry is desired but not essential

Minimum 1-2 years of commercial maintenance experience is required

Essential skills include basic carpentry, general repairs, and painting capabilities

Comfortable using a mobile phone and mobile applications

Ability to pass a National Police Check and other additional security clearances (Mandatory)
