Job summary

Norwest Christian College in NSW is seeking an experienced, full-time Maintenance Assistant to support campus facilities, grounds, and student transport. The role requires teamwork, attention to safety, and a faith-based alignment with the college’s values.

You will perform maintenance across buildings and grounds, assist with AV at events, coordinate with contractors, and help set up classrooms and spaces for activities. Bus driving may be involved; a licence is preferred or training offered.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance, repairs, and minor improvements across school buildings, grounds, and facilities.
• Drive the school bus for student transport, excursions, and events, ensuring safe and responsible operation.
• Conduct routine inspections across the campus and buses to identify safety hazards, maintenance needs, and compliance issues.
• Manage and maintain school equipment, tools, storage areas, and maintenance logs.
• Support school operations by setting up classrooms, events, furniture, and equipment as required.
• Coordinate with external contractors and staff to ensure timely and effective completion of works.
• Assist with College AV requirements, including setup and troubleshooting for events and learning spaces.

This position will be part of a small, highly efficient team, that ensures that the College campus is safe and well presented, and maintains and updates College facilities to meet the needs of our growing community.
