Job summary

AAM in Bathurst is seeking qualified Maintenance Fitters for multiple full-time roles at our Bathurst sawmill. You’ll rotate between day and afternoon shifts on a weekly roster, performing planned maintenance, breakdown repair, and reliability improvements to keep production running safely.

Competitive hourly rate of $50–$55 with shift penalties, relocation assistance for the right candidate, and equipment supplied.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade is required.
• Strong experience with hydraulics and pneumatics is essential.
• Current driver’s licence is required.
• Previous industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality mechanical maintenance and breakdown repair services.
• Minimise downtime through proactive and preventative maintenance.
• Support continuous improvement activities and equipment reliability.
• Maintain tools, equipment and work areas to a safe and organised standard.

Monday–Friday | Weekly Rotating Day & Afternoon Shift | $50–$55 per hour + shift penalties + super

Are you a qualified Maintenance Fitter looking for your next opportunity?

We’re growing our Maintenance team at our Bathurst sawmill and have multiple full-time opportunities for experienced tradespeople to join our site-based maintenance team.

Working across a weekly rotating day and afternoon shift roster, you’ll play a hands‑on role in keeping our production plant running safely and reliably. You’ll work across planned and preventative maintenance, breakdown response and reliability improvements, while also gaining exposure to ongoing capital upgrades and new equipment installations.

With a broad range of fixed plant and continued investment across the site, this is an opportunity to put your trade skills to work while continuing to build your experience in a busy industrial environment.

What We’re Looking For

• Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (or equivalent)

• Strong experience with hydraulics and pneumatics (essential)

• Current Driver’s Licence

• Previous industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience (timber industry skills highly regarded but not essential)

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

• A practical approach to problem‑solving and prioritising work
