Job summary

ofi is seeking a trade qualified Maintenance Fitter to join our Carwarp Almond Processing Plant Team in Victoria. You will report to the Maintenance Supervisor and be responsible for safe work practices and coordinating machinery maintenance programs on site.

This role involves 12-hour shifts, including nights and up to 7 consecutive days as required, with breaks between shifts. The ideal candidate has a fitter trade qualification, strong safety mindset, and experience with preventative

Job description

The Opportunity

We are seeking trade qualified candidates for the role of Maintenance Fitter to join our Carwarp Almond Processing Plant Team.

This role reports to our Maintenance Supervisor, and is responsible for:

• Ensuring safe work practices and facilitation of machinery maintenance programs; and
• Following best work practices to achieve the long-term sustainability of the plant and its machinery.

This is not a 9am – 5pm position, and the roster will be in line with operational requirements working up to 12-hour shifts, including night shifts and up to 7 days on at a time (with sufficient breaks between next shift).

Will have a high level of commitment and a proactive approach. This ‘hands on’ role is suitable for someone with an output focus, who is able to think on their feet, troubleshoot and works well as part of a team. In addition, the successful candidate will have:

• A fitter (mechanical engineering) trade qualification;
• Solid experience in the programmed and preventative maintenance of machinery;
• A strong safety mindset and track-record;
• A great team attitude;
• Excellent interpersonal skills; and
• Relevant work experience (food manufacturing experience is highly desired).
