George Weston Foods is seeking a full-time Maintenance Fitter for its DON site in Castlemaine, on a Mon–Fri 6:00am–2:30pm roster. You will diagnose and repair equipment, work with a cross-functional team, and uphold safety standards in a high-volume food manufacturing environment.

The role requires a Minimum Certificate 3 in Engineering - Fitting and Turning, and a safety-minded approach. An Advanced Boiler license is preferred but not mandatory; full work rights in Australia are required.

Responsabilités

• Diagnose and resolve equipment breakdowns efficiently, minimizing downtime.
• Collaborate with maintenance and production teams during shift changes.
• Maintain safety and compliance standards in the workplace.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement to improve reliability and efficiency.
• Work with Maintenance Manager and Supervisors on root cause analysis and follow-up actions.
• Maintain registers, logs and systems to track repairs and activities.
• Develop and maintain collaborative relationships across Maintenance, Production, Planning and Engineering.

The Role

We currently have a full-time opportunity in our Maintenance team for a Fitter on day shift! This role is a permanent full-time opportunity, working on a roster of Mon - Fri 6:00am - 2:30pm.

Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and resolve equipment breakdowns efficiently, minimizing downtime and maintaining productivity in a safe manner
• Collaborate with other maintenance and production team members to communicate equipment status, particularly during shift changes.
• Maintain safety and compliance standards, ensuring a safe working environment for all team members.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement to enhance equipment reliability and production efficiency.
• Working with the Maintenance Manager and Supervisors to conduct root cause analysis on failures and ensuring follow up on identified actions.
• Maintaining all registers, logs and systems to track repairs, notifications and work activities.
• Develop & maintain a close and collaborative working relationships across the Maintenance, Production, Planning and Engineering teams.

About You:

• Minimum Certificate 3 in Engineering - Fitting and Turning.
• An Advanced Boiler license is preferred but not mandatory.
• A safety mindset with a strong commitment to ensuring a safe work environment for yourself and others.
• Can work and communicate well in a team environment
• Sound understanding of reactive, preventative and predictive maintenance systems and techniques
• Sound analytical and problem-solving skills
• Great organisational and time management skills
• Able to work independently, with minimal supervision
