Job summary

GWF is seeking a Maintenance Fitter to join the DON division on a day shift (Mon-Fri, 6:00am–2:30pm). You will diagnose and fix equipment breakdowns, support safety standards, and work with cross-functional teams to improve reliability and productivity across the site.

You will bring a trade qualification, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with maintenance and production colleagues to minimise downtime and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Minimum Certificate 3 in Engineering - Mechanical Trade.
• Safety-minded with a strong commitment to a safe work environment.
• Team player and good communicator.
• Sound understanding of reactive, preventative and predictive maintenance systems and techniques.
• Sound knowledge of high-speed packaging equipment, bearings, seals, shaft repair, conveying systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• Able to work independently, with minimal supervision.

The Role

We currently have a full-time opportunity in our Maintenance team for a Fitter on day shift! This role is a permanent full-time opportunity, on a roster of Mon - Fri 6:00am - 2:30pm.

Purpose of the Role

• Diagnose and resolve equipment breakdowns efficiently, minimizing downtime and maintaining productivity in a safe manner
• Collaborate with other maintenance and production team members to communicate equipment status, particularly during shift changes.
• Maintain safety and compliance standards, ensuring a safe working environment for all team members.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement to enhance equipment reliability and production efficiency.
• Working with the Maintenance Manager and Supervisors to conduct root cause analysis on failures and ensuring follow up on identified actions.
• Maintaining all registers, logs and systems to track repairs, notifications and work activities.
• Develop & maintain a close and collaborative working relationships across the Maintenance, Production, Planning and Engineering teams.
