Job summary

Selleys, proudly part of DuluxGroup, is seeking a hands-on Mechanical Fitter/Machinist for our Sydney site. You will maintain and optimise site equipment, support changeovers, and respond to breakdowns to minimise downtime.

The role requires trade qualifications, 3–5 years’ experience in an industrial setting, and proficiency with CMMS systems such as MEX. Join a collaborative team working afternoon shifts (2pm–10pm).

Qualifications

• Trade qualification as Mechanical Fitter or Machinist.
• 3–5 years of experience in manufacturing, FMCG, chemical processing or industrial production.
• Experience with CMMS systems (MEX).
• Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and maintenance instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to document maintenance activities.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Develop a strong understanding of site equipment and services
• Assist with complex production line changeovers and equipment setups
• Respond to breakdowns, diagnose faults to minimise downtime including identifying and investigating recurring equipment failures and recommend solutions to improve reliability
• Complete planned preventative and corrective maintenance activities and maintain accurate records within the site CMMS (MEX)
• Apply Permit to Work, LOTO and isolation procedures to ensure all maintenance activities are completed safely and in compliance with site requirements
• Collaborate closely with operators and production leaders to optimise equipment performance

What We’re Looking for

• Trade qualified Mechanical Fitter / Machinist with minimum 3-5 years’ experience
• Experience in a manufacturing, FMCG, chemical processing or industrial production environment with strong commitment to workplace safety
• Proven mechanical and/or electrical fault-finding capabilitynje?
• Experience working with CMMS systems such as MEX
• Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, maintenance instructions and equipment manuals
• Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately document maintenance activities

This is a hands‑on role suited to a trade‑qualified professional who enjoys problem solving and working collaboratively with maintenance, engineering and production peers. This is a permanent full‑time position for the afternoon shift (2pm‑10pm).
