Job summary

Selleys, part of the DuluxGroup family, is seeking a hands-on Mechanical Fitter/Machinist to join our Sydney site on an afternoon shift. You will work with production teams, perform changeovers, diagnose faults, and ensure reliable equipment operation.

A trade qualification and 3–5 years’ experience in a manufacturing setting are essential. You will apply safety procedures, use CMMS (MEX) for maintenance records, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Trade qualified Mechanical Fitter or Machinist with 3–5 years’ experience in manufacturing, FMCG, chemical processing or industrial production.
• Proven mechanical or electrical fault-finding capability in a production environment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and maintenance instructions.
• Experience working with CMMS systems (MEX) and maintaining accurate maintenance records.

• Develop a strong understanding of site equipment and services.
• Assist with complex production line changeovers and equipment setups.
• Respond to breakdowns and diagnose faults to minimise downtime; investigate recurring failures and recommend improvements.
• Complete planned preventative and corrective maintenance activities and maintain accurate CMMS records.
• Apply Permit to Work, LOTO and isolation procedures to ensure safe maintenance in line with site requirements.
• Collaborate with operators and production leaders to optimise equipment performance.

What We’re Looking For

• Trade qualified Mechanical Fitter / Machinist with minimum 3-5 years’ experience
• Experience in a manufacturing, FMCG, chemical processing or industrial production environment with strong commitment to workplace safety
• Proven mechanical and/or electrical fault-finding capability
• Experience working with CMMS systems such as MEX
• Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, maintenance instructions and equipment manuals
• Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately document maintenance activities

This is a hands‑on role suited to a trade‑qualified professional who enjoys problem solving and working collaboratively with maintenance, engineering and production peers. This is a permanent full‑time position for the afternoon shift (2pm-10pm).
