Job summary

DuluxGroup–Selleys division is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Technician / Mechanical Fitter to service site equipment and drive reliability improvements in our Sydney manufacturing environment.

This permanent full-time role operates on the afternoon shift (2pm-10pm). You will diagnose faults, perform preventative maintenance, and document activities in MEX CMMS, collaborating with maintenance, engineering and production teams.

Qualifications

• Trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter or Machinist with 3–5 years’ experience.
• Experience in manufacturing, FMCG, chemical processing or industrial production with safety focus.
• Proven mechanical and/or electrical fault-finding capability.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and maintenance instructions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain site equipment and services and respond to breakdowns to minimise downtime.
• Assist with complex production line changeovers and equipment setups.
• Complete planned preventative and corrective maintenance with accurate CMMS records.
• Apply Permit to Work, LOTO and isolation procedures safely and in compliance.
• Collaborate with operators and production leaders to optimise equipment performance.

Maintenance Technician / Mechanical Fitter

Develop a strong understanding of site equipment and services

Assist with complex production line changeovers and equipment setups

Respond to breakdowns, diagnose faults to minimise downtime including identifying and investigating recurring equipment failures and recommend solutions to improve reliability

Complete planned preventative and corrective maintenance activities and maintain accurate records within the site CMMS (MEX)

Apply Permit to Work, LOTO and isolation procedures to ensure all maintenance activities are completed safely and in compliance with site requirements

Collaborate closely with operators and production leaders to optimise equipment performance

What We’re Looking for

Trade qualified Mechanical Fitter / Machinist with minimum 3-5 years’ experience

Experience in a manufacturing, FMCG, chemical processing or industrial production environment with strong commitment to workplace safety

Proven mechanical and/or electrical fault-finding capability

Experience working with CMMS systems such as MEX

Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, maintenance instructions and equipment manuals

Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately document maintenance activities

This is a hands-on role suited to a trade-qualified professional who enjoys problem solving and working collaboratively with maintenance, engineering and production peers. This is a permanent full-time position for the afternoon shift (2pm-10pm).
