Pipemakers, a leading PVC pipe and fittings producer, seeks a Maintenance Fitter to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair our production equipment. The role operates on a 4x12-hour shift pattern, with 4 days off, in a fast-paced manufacturing facility.

You will be responsible for mechanical maintenance, responding to breakdowns, and implementing preventative maintenance while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance. CMMS (MEX) knowledge is preferred.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical (Fitting/Machining) issued by a registered training organisation.
• Proven manufacturing/industrial experience.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics and mechanical systems.
• Ability to read technical drawings and schematics.

Responsabilités

• Perform mechanical maintenance, repairs, and installation on PVC pipe production machinery and equipment.
• Respond to breakdowns quickly to minimize downtime.
• Conduct preventative maintenance programs and keep maintenance records through CMMS (MEX).
• Assist in installation and commissioning of new machinery.
• Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations.
• Work with production and engineering teams to optimize equipment performance.

About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Maintenance Fitter to support our production facility. You’ll be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing our manufacturing equipment and infrastructure to ensure continuous and safe operations. Working 4 X 12-hour days, followed by 4 days off.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical maintenance, repairs, and installation on PVC pipe production machinery and equipment
• Respond to breakdowns quickly and efficiently to minimize downtime
• Conduct preventative maintenance programs and keep accurate maintenance records through CMMS (MEX)
• Assist in the installation and commissioning of new machinery
• Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations
• Work closely with production and engineering teams to optimize equipment performance

Requirements

• Trade Qualification (Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical (Fitting/Machining)
• Proven experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting, ideally in plastic or pipe production
• Strong knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical systems
• Experience in material handling, specifically conveying powders will be highly regarded
• Restricted electrical license will be highly regarded
• Ability to read technical drawings and schematics
• Excellent troubleshooting and fault-finding skills
• Safety-conscious with strong attention to detail
• Willingness to work rotating shifts, 4 X 12-hour days, followed by 4 days off
