Job summary

Youfoodz currently seeks a Maintenance Fitter to maintain electromechanical equipment at our Karawatha, Brisbane facility. The role involves preventive maintenance, fault-finding on production lines, and supporting capital projects to keep the plant running at peak efficiency.

The ideal candidate has a Mechanical Fitter trade, 5+ years in electromechanical maintenance, 3+ years in food industry maintenance, and skills in metal fabrication and Stainless TIG welding.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter is required.
• At least 5 years of electromechanical maintenance experience.
• 3 years of maintenance experience in the food industry.
• Proficiency in stainless TIG welding and metal fabrication.
• Solid understanding of automated machinery, HACCP and GMP.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance across the facility.
• Respond to production faults and rectify equipment issues.
• Assist in continuous improvement and reduce downtime.
• Maintain stock levels for critical spare parts.
• Support capital projects and new equipment installs.
• Report findings during shift handovers.
• Adhere to quality processes and procedures.

Job Description

As our Maintenance Fitter, you will be responsible for maintaining all equipment at Youfoodz. You will handle a mix of scheduled preventative maintenance and reactive tasks, responding to breakdown calls from production staff and assisting with capital projects to ensure our facility runs at peak efficiency.

This role is based at our Karawatha, Brisbane facility and reports to the Maintenance Supervisor.

You will…

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance work across the facility.

• Respond to production calls to fault-find and rectify equipment and machinery issues.

• Assist in developing processes to drive continuous improvement and reduce machinery downtime.

• Help maintain stock levels for critical spare parts.

• Support capital projects and new equipment installations as required.

• Report on daily findings and activities during shift handovers.

• Adhere to all quality processes and procedures during your work.

You have…

• A trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter.

• At least 5 years of experience maintaining electromechanical machinery.

• 3 years of experience specifically within food industry maintenance.

• Proficiency in metal fabrication and Stainless TIG welding.

• A strong understanding of automated machinery, HACCP, and GMP standards.
