Job summary

Peters Ice Cream, Australia's leading ice cream manufacturer, invites an experienced maintenance engineer to join our Mulgrave site. You will monitor plant condition, plan maintenance shutdowns, investigate failures and drive OHS and food safety compliance on site.

We seek an engineering degree (mechanical or electrical), 3+ years in a fast-moving FMCG environment, and strong teamwork, organizational skills and proficiency in MS Office.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in a similar role in fast-moving FMCG or similar industry.
• Engineering degree (mechanical or electrical preferred).
• Engages well with others and builds relationships.
• Strong organisational skills and MS Office proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Monitor trends including plant condition to assess maintenance needs and reliability.
• Plan and deliver maintenance shutdown programs.
• Minimise downtime by investigating failures and taking corrective action.
• Drive performance on site through breakdown analysis and problem solving.
• Ensure compliance with OHS and food safety policies and procedures.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

• Monitoring trends including the physical condition of the plant, to determine the effects on maintenance demands and plant reliability;
• planning and delivering maintenance shutdown program;
• minimising production downtime by investigating failures and taking appropriate actions to prevent recurrence;
• maintaining and driving performance expectations on site through breakdown analysis and problem solving activities; and
• advocating and ensuring compliance with OHS and food safety policies and procedures.

To be short listed for this position, you will be able to demonstrate:

• 3+ years in a similar role in a fast-moving industry such as food FMCG or similar industry;
• engineering degree qualified (mechanical or electrical preferred);
• a natural ability to engage, collaborate and build relationships;
• strong organisational skills; and
• proficient in MS office particularly excel.

This role is based at our national head office and manufacturing centre in Mulgrave, which offers ample free parking, on-site staff shop and staff canteen.
