Job summary

Peters Ice Cream in Mulgrave, VIC, is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to monitor plant condition, plan shutdowns and reduce downtime across our national head office and manufacturing centre. You will drive performance through proactive maintenance and data-driven problem solving.

Ideal candidates hold an engineering degree (mechanical or electrical), have 3+ years in a similar role in FMCG, and demonstrate collaboration, strong organisational skills, and proficiency with MS Office.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in a similar maintenance role in a fast-moving industry such as food FMCG.
• Engineering degree in mechanical or electrical (preferred).
• Strong collaboration and relationship-building abilities; solid organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor trends in plant condition to determine maintenance demands and reliability.
• Plan and deliver maintenance shutdown program.
• Minimise production downtime by investigating failures and preventing recurrence.
• Drive site performance through breakdown analysis and problem solving.
• Advocate and ensure compliance with OHS and food safety policies.

Job Description

In this role, you will be responsible for:

• Monitoring trends including the physical condition of the plant, to determine the effects on maintenance demands and plant reliability;
• planning and delivering maintenance shutdown program;
• minimising production downtime by investigating failures and taking appropriate actions to prevent recurrence;
• maintaining and driving performance expectations on site through breakdown analysis and problem solving activities; and
• advocating and ensuring compliance with OHS and food safety policies and procedures.

Desired Skills and Experience

To be short listed for this position, you will be able to demonstrate:

• 3+ years in a similar role in a fast-moving industry such as food FMCG or similar industry;
• engineering degree qualified (mechanical or electrical preferred);
• a natural ability to engage, collaborate and build relationships;
• strong organisational skills; and
• proficient in MS office particularly excel.

This role is based at our national head office and manufacturing centre in Mulgrave, which offers ample free parking, on-site staff shop and staff canteen.
