Job summary

PYBAR Mining Services in Orange, NSW, is seeking an experienced Underground Electrician to join the PYBAR Workshop. You will perform planned and breakdown maintenance on underground mining equipment, troubleshoot faults, and ensure reliability while working a Monday–Friday roster with site travel as needed.

You will bring a trade certificate in electrical, at least two years of underground experience, knowledge of AS5368 and NSW mining regs, and proficiency with CMMS and 1000V equipment.

Qualifications

• Trade certificate in electrical is required
• Minimum 2 years’ underground/mine site experience
• Familiar with 1000V mining equipment as used on drill rigs, pumps, fans and starters
• Ability to estimate time and materials for jobs
• Manage and order parts and materials
• Ability to complete equipment rebuilds, repairs and upgrades
• Willingness to travel to site for support and maintenance
• Knowledge of AS5368 standard and NSW mining electrical regulations
• Experience using CMMS is preferred

Job description

We deliver a range of projects, from large established mining operations to greenfield developments across Australia. The services we provide range from mine development, production, cable bolting and drilling, raise boring, shotcreting and fleet.

THE OPPORTUNITY

We are currently looking for experienced Electrician to support our PYBAR Workshop located in Orange, NSW. Working autonomously as well as part of a team and ensuring a high quality of work, you expand your experience and knowledge of underground Electrical maintenance.

This position will see you working a Monday - Friday roster minimum 10 hour shifts in a full-time position with some site travel required on a as needed basis.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Performing planned and breakdown maintenance on underground mining equipment.
• Diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical faults on mobile and fixed plant equipment.
• Inspecting, testing and repairing electrical systems to ensure equipment reliability and compliance.
• Conducting preventative maintenance to minimise downtime and maximise equipment availability.
• Maintaining accurate service records, maintenance reports and inspection documentation.
• Ensuring all work is completed safely and in accordance with site procedures, statutory requirements and company policies.
• Working collaboratively with operations and maintenance teams to achieve production targets.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED

• Trade Certificate in Electrical or similar.
• Minimum of two (2) years' experience as an underground or mine site electrician.
• Familiar with 1000v Mining equipment such as drill rigs, pumps, fans and starters
• Estimating time and materials required to complete jobs
• Managing and ordering parts and materials.
• Completing equipment rebuilds, repairs and upgrades.
• Ability to travel to site to provide support, maintenance, and electrical work.
• Knowledge of AS5368 standard and NSW Mining electrical regulations.
• Experience using CMMS.
• A strong focus on safety
• Hold a current Australian Manual Drivers License
• Hold or be willing to obtain a current National Police Clearance.
