Job summary

Axxion Search is recruiting an experienced Maintenance Electrician for a permanent opportunity with a large food manufacturing operation in the Somerset/Lockyer Valley region.

You’ll work across automated plant, fault-finding, preventative maintenance and improvements, with scope to contribute to reliability initiatives and capital projects. A Queensland electrical licence is required; FMCG experience is highly regarded.

Job description

Axxion Search is recruiting an experienced Maintenance Electrician for a permanent opportunity with a substantial food manufacturing business in the greater Somerset / Lockyer Valley region.

The site operates at scale and relies heavily on automated production equipment, so the role suits someone who enjoys fault-finding, improving plant performance and working in a technically varied environment.

This is not just a breakdown role. The maintenance team is being developed with a stronger focus on reliability, preventative maintenance and continuous improvement.

What the role involves

You’ll work across a broad range of plant and equipment, including:

• automated processing and packaging machinery
• motors and motor control systems
• VSDs and soft starters
• PLC-controlled equipment
• electrical distribution and control systems
• plant services and associated infrastructure

Your day-to-day work will include fault-finding, breakdown response, preventative maintenance, repairs, modifications and supporting improvement work across the site.

There is also scope to contribute to equipment upgrades, reliability initiatives and capital projects.

What we’re looking for

You’ll need:

• a current Queensland electrical licence
• solid industrial maintenance experience
• strong fault-finding ability
• confidence working around automated plant
• practical experience with motors, VSDs and control systems
• a strong safety mindset
• the ability to work independently and within a broader maintenance team
• Experience in food manufacturing, FMCG, meat processing or another high-volume production environment would be highly regarded.
• Exposure to PLC diagnostics, SCADA, instrumentation or industrial automation would also be beneficial.

Remuneration

• $65 per hour
• Overtime
• Superannuation
