seek.com.au is seeking an experienced Maintenance Electrician to support our Brisbane-based manufacturing operations. You will be responsible for preventive and breakdown maintenance, troubleshooting electrical systems, and driving reliability across plant equipment.

The role demands hands-on skills with VFDs, PLCs, robotics, and automated material handling, along with a proactive approach to continuous improvement and safety.

Qualificações

• Electrical trade qualification.
• Licensed and registered as an electrician for industrial installations.
• Experience within a high-volume, low-variability manufacturing environment.
• Involvement in continuous improvement initiatives.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Responsabilidades

• Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance on plant and equipment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical faults using schematics and drawings.
• Maintain and troubleshoot VFDs, switchgear, PLCs and comms systems.
• Maintain and troubleshoot automated material handling robots.
• Maintain and repair robotic welding systems.
• Ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities.
• Collaborate with operations to meet production needs.
• Independently respond to breakdowns and implement solutions or engage contractors.
• Conduct scheduled maintenance on presses, CNC, robotics, hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Manage spare parts inventory.
• Mentor teams in continuous improvement for safety, quality, productivity
• Follow safety procedures including LOTO.

The Role

We are seeking to appoint an experienced Maintenance Electrician to support our manufacturing operations.

The successful candidate will be a self-motivated and skilled tradesperson, with strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to continuous improvement. You will be confident in thinking outside the box to drive operational efficiency and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and breakdown maintenance on plant and equipment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical faults efficiently using schematics and technical drawings.
• Maintain, troubleshoot and repair variable frequency drives (VFDs), switchgear, PLCs and communication systems.
• Maintain, troubleshoot and repair automated material handling Robotic systems.
• Maintain, troubleshoot and repair automated Robotic welding systems.
• Ensure equipment reliability and minimise downtime across the site.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities.
• Work closely with operations and maintenance teams to support production requirements.
• Independently attend to machine breakdowns (manual and automated presses), diagnose root causes, and implement solutions or engage external contractors as required
• Conduct and manage scheduled maintenance, including troubleshooting of mechanical presses, CNC machines, automated robotic material handling, automated robotic welding and hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Manage spare parts inventory for machinery and production equipment
• Guide and mentor production teams in continuous improvement activities to enhance safety, quality, and productivity
• Adhere to all safety procedures, including Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) requirements.
