UniLodge Australia is seeking a Maintenance Coordinator to join our Brisbane team. The role focuses on maintaining student apartments, common areas, and building exteriors, while supporting resident wellbeing and a professional team in a residential context.

You’ll bring a proactive, can-do attitude with the ability to work independently or with others. Experience in student accommodation, real estate, or hospitality is preferred but quick learners are welcome.

Qualifications

  • Proven ability to perform maintenance across apartments and common areas.
  • Strong communication and teamwork in diverse environments.
  • Willingness to work after-hours for emergencies and urgent repairs.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively and efficiently carry out maintenance of student apartments, common areas and building exterior, and manage soft facilities needs.
  • General maintenance including lighting checks, minor painting and plastering, carpentry and plumbing repairs.
  • Follow health and safety procedures and company policies; coordinate with managers and external contractors.

The Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for effectively and efficiently carrying out maintenance of apartments,common areas and building exterior and helping the team with resident wellbeing and supporting a team of dedicated professionals in a residential context. ABOUT YOUR NEW ROLE Our ideal candidate will possess a positive, can-do attitude and confidence to work both independently and within a team. Preferably you will have similar experience within student accommodation, real estate, or hospitality – however if you’re a quick learner we are still open to considering your application! You will have a 'safety first' mindset, and an understanding of basic OH&S principles and chemical handling. This role will keep you busy and will offer you variety in duties day-to-day. You will need to have the physical ability to move & relocate soft furnishings around. You will be flexible with your availability and willing to assist with major emergency issues after hours if called on. Communication skills are key in this role as our staff and residents come from diverse backgrounds. Some of your key duties and responsibilities include:

  • Effectively and efficiently carry out maintenance of the student apartments, common areas andbuilding exterior, and manage the soft facilities requirements of the property
  • General maintenance – lighting checks and replacement, minor painting & plastering repairs, minor carpentry and plumbing repairs throughout the building
  • Work within and maintain procedures and standards for all operational areas to maximiseefficiency of resources
  • Maintain the highest level of maintenance, safety and security at all times
  • Operate within agreed company health and safety procedures. Follow industry and statutoryregulations at all times
  • Advise Manager of work to be carried out by external contractors and ensure appropriate approvals are obtained
  • Provide assistance in a professional and efficient matter to residents and visitors
  • Communicate effectively with other staff and contractors
  • Establish good working relations with contractors

Our mandatory requirements include:

  • Valid work rights in Australia
  • National Police Check
  • Working with Children Check
  • Ability to reliably commit to a full‑time 38‑hour work week,
  • Valid Australian Drivers Licence and reliable vehicle
  • Current First Aid + CPR - or willing to obtain
