Job summary

Noosa Blue Lakes Property Management Pty Ltd is seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Carpenter to carry out carpentry, repair and renovation work across six resort properties in the Noosa region. Qualifications

• Certificate III in Carpentry (or Carpentry and Joinery) or equivalent qualification
• Experience in repairs, fit-outs and renovation carpentry
• Experience across occupied premises is desirable
• Experience in building, property or resort maintenance is an advantage

Responsibilities

• Construct, install, repair and renovate timber structures across the resorts
• Carry out carpentry fit-outs of guest apartments, including cabinetry, doors, windows, decking and built-in furniture
• Undertake timber repairs to floors, balconies, railings, stairs and external structures
• Build and install joinery, shelving, wardrobes and custom timber features
• Read and interpret plans and specifications for renovation and improvement projects
• Measure, cut and shape timber to required tolerances and finish
• Coordinate carpentry work around guest occupancy to minimise disruption
• Maintain tools and equipment and keep work areas safe and tidy
• Carry out general building maintenance in support of the carpentry function

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Carpenter to carry out carpentry, repair and renovation work across our six resorts. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will handle the carpentry and joinery that keeps our apartments and common areas in top condition - from fit-outs and timber repairs to renovation and improvement projects. This is a full-time, hands-on role suited to a qualified carpenter who takes pride in quality workmanship and can manage their work across multiple properties.

Key Responsibilities

• Construct, install, repair and renovate timber structures, fixtures and fittings across the resorts
• Carry out carpentry fit-outs of guest apartments, including cabinetry, doors, windows, decking and built-in furniture
• Undertake timber repairs to floors, balconies, railings, stairs and external structures
• Build and install joinery, shelving, wardrobes and custom timber features
• Read and interpret plans and specifications for renovation and improvement projects
• Measure, cut and shape timber and related materials to the required tolerances and finish
• Assist with resort renovation and refurbishment projects from set-out through to completion
• Identify and rectify defects in timber structures and fittings
• Coordinate carpentry work around guest occupancy to minimise disruption
• Maintain tools and equipment and keep work areas safe and tidy
• Carry out general building maintenance in support of the carpentry function as required

Skills

• Skilled use of carpentry hand and power tools
• Ability to read and work from plans, drawings and specifications
• Sound knowledge of timber, materials and construction methods
• Accurate measuring, cutting and finishing to a high standard
• Strong attention to detail and quality of finish
• Ability to work independently and manage tasks across multiple sites
• Good problem-solving on repairs and renovations
• Sound awareness of building and workplace health and safety standards

Experience

• Demonstrated experience working as a carpenter, including repairs, fit-outs and renovation carpentry
• Experience in building, property or resort maintenance is an advantage
• Experience working across occupied premises such as hotels, resorts or apartments is desirable
• Proven ability to complete carpentry projects to schedule and to a high quality standard

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Carpentry (or Carpentry and Joinery), or equivalent qualification and experience
