Job summary

North Queensland Bulk Ports Corporation (NQBP) is seeking an experienced Chief Operating Officer to lead the safe, reliable and efficient delivery of port operations across Hay Point, Mackay, Abbot Point and Weipa. Reporting to the CEO, this role oversees Port Operations, Maintenance, Marine Pilotage Services, People & Culture, and Health, Wellbeing & Safety.

Qualifications

• Significant senior executive leadership experience in complex, high-risk operations.
• Experience leading multiple operational and enabling functions across a port or heavy industry.
• Strong track record in health and safety leadership and cultural transformation.

Responsibilities

• Lead safe, reliable and efficient port, marine and maintenance operations across multiple sites.
• Provide executive leadership across People & Culture and Health, Wellbeing & Safety, driving capability and performance.
• Oversee financial management, budgeting and resource allocation to achieve strategic targets.
• Engage with government, customers, contractors, port communities and other stakeholders to deliver outcomes.
• Partner with the CEO, Board and Executive Leadership Team to execute NQBP's strategy and long-term plans.
