Job summary

Haynes People is hiring for a wind farm project near Gladstone, SA. Join a team operating Padfoot, Scraper, Compact, Moxy, and Excavator with a focus on safety and efficiency.

You will perform earthworks, operate machinery, and support site crews on a casual roster with weekly pay and accommodation allowances where applicable.

Qualifications

• Proven experience operating civil plant and equipment (Padfoot, Scraper, Compact, Moxy and Excavator).
• Construction Induction (White Card).
• Current driver's licence and reliable transport.
• Experience working on solar farm or large-scale civil projects (highly regarded).
• Ability to interpret site instructions and work unsupervised.

Responsibilities

• Operate Padfoot, Scraper, Compact, Moxy and Excavator safely per site rules.
• Conduct pre-start checks and daily maintenance of plant and equipment.
• Perform earthworks, trenching, backfilling, and compaction per specification.
• Load, haul, and place materials using appropriate techniques.
• Work under supervision to meet production targets and project timelines.
• Participate in toolbox meetings, safety briefings and environmental awareness sessions.
• Report mechanical issues, hazards, or incidents promptly.
• Ensure work areas are left clean and tidy at end of shift.

About the Opportunity

In this position, you'll be the first point of contact for customers, handling enquiries through phone, email, and online channels. You'll assist with order processing, provide updates on customer orders and backorders, resolve issues, and perform general administrative tasks to ensure customers receive excellent service.

What You’ll be Doing

• Multiple Positions (Padfoot, Scraper, Compact, Moxy and Excavator) operate machines safely and efficiently in accordance with site requirements.
• Conduct pre‑start checks and daily maintenance of plant and equipment.
• Perform earthworks, trenching, backfilling, and compaction activities to specification.
• Load, haul, and place materials using appropriate techniques.
• Work under the direction of supervisors to meet production targets and project timelines.
• Participate in toolbox meetings, safety briefings, and environmental awareness sessions.
• Report mechanical issues, hazards, or incidents promptly.
• Ensure all work areas are left clean and tidy at the end of shift.

Whats on offer

• Roster: 10 days on / 4 days off - roster starts on a Tuesday
• Pay Rate: $50-$55 (dependent on experience and tickets)
• Type: Casual
• Start: 04-08-2026
• $150 per day accommodation/food allowance - required to source your own accommodation.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:
