Job summary

James Hardie Australia Pty Ltd is seeking a Machine Operator and Forklift Operator for our manufacturing team in Adelaide, SA. The role requires a valid Forklift License, strong mechanical aptitude, and experience in a QA environment.

You will operate and set up machines, manage molds, ensure safety, and maintain production quality across rotating day and night shifts. Applicants must be able to use computers for process data entry, communicate effectively, and pass a pre-employment medical

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Operate concrete mixing, stacking and splitting machines
• Set up and install molds and other machine fixtures
• Set grinding and cutting edges
• Carry out work safely following procedures
• Maintain production in line with schedule and target quality
• Perform process checks and contribute to continuous improvement
• Carry out manual handling tasks as required
• Be flexible with shift work (4 on 4 off; 2x12hr day and 2x12hr night shifts)
• Comply with WHS safety practices and procedures

Machine Operator - Manufacturing - Day & Night Shift

We are seeking a Machine Operator and Forklift Operator to support our Manufacturing team based in Carole Park.

18th September, 2026

As a Machine Operator, you will hold a valid Forklift License and bring experience from a similar manufacturing environment. You'll also have a willingness to learn the trade and develop the skills needed to succeed in the role.

What you will need:

• Previous experience in a quality assurance environment
• Valid Forklift License
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of safety in the workplace
• Ability to use computers for the entry and retrieval of process data and machine operation
• Strong interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills
• All successful candidates will be required to undertake a pre-employment medical including drug & alcohol screening.

You will be flexible and open to work across rotation shift Pattern / 4 on 4 off
2 x 12hr day shifts – 6am-6pm, followed by / 2 x 12hr night shifts, 6pm-6am

What the role involves:

• Operating concrete mixing, stacking and splitting machines
• Setting up and installing molds and other machine fixtures
• Setting grinding and cutting edges
• Carry out work in a safe manner, in accordance with Safety procedures as applicable
• Ensure process efficiencies are achieved and maintained
• Ensure production is in line with the specified production schedule
• Ensure product quality is in accordance with relevant specifications and that process checks are performed as required
• Actively participate in improvement projects
• Manual Handling tasks are performed as part of this role
• Be flexible and adaptable with a willingness to embrace shift work
• Complying with all WHS safety practices and procedures
