Job summary

James Hardie Australia Pty Ltd in Carole Park, Queensland is seeking a Machine Operator and Forklift Operator to support our Manufacturing team on a day and night rotation. The role requires a valid Forklift License and experience in a similar manufacturing environment, with flexibility for 4-on-4-off shifts including 2x12hr day shifts and 2x12hr night shifts.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a quality assurance environment.
• Valid Forklift License.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Knowledge and understanding of safety in the workplace.
• Ability to use computers for entry and retrieval of process data and machine operation.
• Strong interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills.
• Pre-employment medical including drug & alcohol screening.

Responsibilities

• Operate concrete mixing, stacking and splitting machines.
• Set up and install molds and other machine fixtures.
• Set grinding and cutting edges.
• Carry out work safely per procedures.
• Ensure process efficiencies are achieved and maintained.
• Ensure production is in line with the specified production schedule.
• Ensure product quality is in accordance with relevant specifications and that process checks are performed as required.
• Actively participate in improvement projects.
• Manual Handling tasks are performed as part of this role.
• Be flexible and adaptable with a willingness to embrace shift work.
• Complying with all WHS safety practices and procedures.

As a Machine Operator, you will hold a valid Forklift License and bring experience from a similar manufacturing environment. You’ll also have a willingness to learn the trade and develop the skills needed to succeed in the role. What you will need:

• Previous experience in a quality assurance environment
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of safety in the workplace
• Ability to use computers for the entry and retrieval of process data and machine operation
• Strong interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills
• All successful candidates will be required to undertake a pre-employment medical including drug & alcohol screening.

2 x 12hr day shifts – 6am-6pm, followed by / 2 x 12hr night shifts, 6pm-6am
