AFL Telecommunications Australia – Tottenham VIC is seeking a Machine Operator to join our team manufacturing high-quality fibre optic cable for major projects. You will operate extrusion lines, monitor quality, follow specifications and keep production running safely.

Training is provided to learn our products and equipment. The role requires experience with extrusion machinery or similar equipment, a strong safety mindset, and the ability to work with measurements and basic calculations.

Qualifications

• Experience operating extrusion machinery or similar manufacturing equipment.
• Strong focus on safety, quality and attention to detail.
• Ability to follow production instructions and specifications.
• Reliable, team-oriented and willing to learn.
• Forklift licence essential.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate extrusion production lines.
• Monitor product quality and perform in-process testing.
• Follow job cards, production schedules and specifications.
• Troubleshoot issues and keep production running safely.
• Support cable winding, drum changes and material movement.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised work area.

We're looking for a Machine Operator to join our experienced team, producing high-quality fibre optic cable used in major telecommunications and infrastructure projects. You'll operate extrusion equipment, monitor product quality and help keep production running safely and efficiently. Cable industry experience is welcome, but not essential.

If you understand extrusion processes and enjoy hands-on manufacturing work, we'll provide the training needed to learn our products and equipment.

What You'll Be Doing

• Set up and operate extrusion production lines
• Monitor product quality and perform in-process testing
• Follow job cards, production schedules and specifications

What We're Looking For

• Are available to work continental shift patterns (week one - 3x 12 hour day shifts, week two - 3x 12 hour night shifts, week three - 2x12 hour day shift plus 2x 12 hour night shifts)
