Novon Lighting Pty is seeking an experienced Machine Operator to join its production team in a permanent full-time role. You will operate and monitor computer-controlled and manual metalworking equipment, read drawings, and ensure quality throughout the process.

Reporting to the Manufacturing Engineer, you will set up machines, load programs, adjust settings and help keep production running safely and efficiently. The role offers weekday hours and onsite parking.

Formación

• Previous machine operating experience within a metal manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes, including cutting, bending, welding and assembly.
• Ability to read technical drawings and interpret specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
• Good communication and teamwork with production staff.

Responsabilidades

• Operate computer-controlled machinery, including laser cutting, bending, robotic and spot welding equipment.
• Set up machines, load programs and adjust settings with programming team.
• Read technical drawings and ensure components meet production requirements.
• Perform quality checks and report defects or production issues.
• Carry out routine machine cleaning, maintenance and basic troubleshooting.
• Handle and store raw materials, components and finished products safely.
• Maintain accurate production records and suggest process improvements.
• Follow workplace safety, quality and environmental procedures.

Bring your metal manufacturing experience to Novon Lighting and take on a hands-on role producing quality sheet metal components using automated and semi-manual machinery.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Machine Operator to join our production team. Reporting to our Manufacturing Engineer, you will operate and monitor manufacturing equipment, check product quality and help keep production running safely and efficiently.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Operating computer-controlled machinery, including laser cutting, bending, robotic and spot welding equipment.
• Setting up machines, loading programs and adjusting settings in collaboration with the programming team.
• Reading technical drawings and specifications to ensure components meet production requirements.
• Performing quality checks and promptly reporting defects or production issues.
• Carrying out routine machine cleaning, maintenance and basic troubleshooting.
• Handling and storing raw materials, components and finished products safely.
• Maintaining accurate production records and contributing ideas to improve processes.
• Following workplace safety, quality and environmental procedures.

About you

You will bring:

• Previous machine operating experience within a metal manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes, including cutting, bending, welding and assembly.
• Experience operating computer-controlled machinery and identifying basic equipment faults.
• The ability to read technical drawings and interpret specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing quality work.
• Basic computer skills and the ability to maintain production records.
• A reliable approach, good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively.

A forklift licence is desirable but not essential. Experience with automated manufacturing or robotic systems will also be highly regarded.
