Job summary

Brickworks Limited is seeking an experienced Machine Operator for our Austral Bricks plant in Golden Grove, SA. You will safely operate production equipment, set up machines and monitor quality to meet product standards. Working with a team, you will follow SOPs, troubleshoot minor faults, and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

A forklift licence is preferred but not essential. This role offers a stable full-time position with a strong safety focus and opportunities for career

Qualifications

  • Commitment to workplace safety.

About the role

We’re seeking an experienced Machine Operator to join our Austral Bricks plant in Golden Grove, SA. Reporting to the Production Manager, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of production equipment used in the manufacture of quality building products. This hands‑on role is suited to someone with experience operating machinery in a manufacturing environment and a strong commitment to safety.

Duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Set up, operate and clean production machinery in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Prepare equipment for operation by adjusting settings, fitting attachments and ensuring materials are ready for production.
  • Monitor machine performance and product quality throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Identify and troubleshoot basic machine faults, escalating more complex issues to the maintenance team as required.
  • Maintain a safe and organised work area, adhering to all WHS policies and procedures.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to achieve production targets and quality standards.
Success Requirements
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing, production or industrial environment. Experience operating machinery will be highly regarded.
  • Strong problem‑solving and fault‑finding skills.
  • The ability to follow procedures and operate equipment safely and efficiently.
  • A strong commitment to workplace safety.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.Flexibility and willingness to work shifts.
  • A current Forklift Licence (highly regarded but not essential).
