Job summary

Morgan Stanley is seeking high-performing Investment Banking Associates based in Sydney or Melbourne to join our M&A practice across Natural Resources, Technology, Media, Telco and General Industrials. You will work with senior bankers on complex transactions, develop models, prepare client materials and manage multiple execution workstreams in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 3–6 years of investment banking experience, preferably in M&A or industry coverage with substantial transaction exposure.
• Experience executing complex M&A, strategic advisory and/or capital markets transactions.
• Advanced financial modelling, valuation and analytical skills.
• Strong understanding of accounting, corporate finance and financial statement analysis.
• Ability to manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, including client-facing materials.

Responsibilities

• Execute a broad range of M&A and strategic advisory transactions across Australia and the Asia Pacific region.
• Develop and maintain sophisticated financial models and valuation analyses.
• Prepare client presentations, strategic reviews, pitch materials and transaction documentation.
• Manage day-to-day execution workstreams in collaboration with clients, lawyers, accountants and other advisers.
• Review and oversee the work product of Analysts and provide guidance on modelling and analytical assignments.
• Support senior bankers in business development activities and client relationship management.
• Ensure the delivery of high-quality work products within demanding timeframes.
