Job summary

IMC Trading is seeking a Performance Engineer to analyse, optimise and tune our systems' interaction with exchange systems. You will work closely with traders and engineers to identify bottlenecks and drive improvements across the trading stack.

You will analyse terabytes of network data, design experiments, and prototype solutions to push latency and throughput higher while collaborating with infrastructure teams to implement changes.

Qualifications

• Experience using statistics and data analysis to test hypotheses at scale.
• System-level or low-level network optimization on live/external systems.
• Strong understanding of networking, computer internals, and Linux systems.

Responsibilities

• Conduct black-box analysis of live systems, identifying performance bottlenecks and opportunities.
• Design, prototype and test performance improvements and experiments.
• Collaborate with traders, software/hardware engineers and infrastructure teams to implement solutions.
• Analyse terabytes of network data using statistical methods to validate hypotheses and quantify gains.
