Job summary

Elity Global in Sydney seeks a technical leader to evolve its ultra‑low‑latency trading network across international markets. The role blends hands‑on engineering with strategic leadership to connect trading systems, exchanges and data centres.

You will mentor engineers, design scalable architectures, implement network automation in Python and CI/CD, and collaborate with trading and software teams to resolve performance challenges.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience engineering large-scale, low-latency networks.
• Proven technical leadership including mentoring network engineers.
• Deep expertise in routing, switching, network architecture and performance optimisation.
• Strong data centre networking, WAN connectivity and colocation knowledge.
• Experience with multi-vendor production infrastructure.
• Strong network automation skills using Python, Ansible or similar.
• Experience with network telemetry, packet analysis and observability.
• Ability to balance latency, reliability and scalability in architectural decisions.
• Experience in HFT or electronic trading is advantageous.

What You'll Be Working On

• Leading a team of specialist network engineers responsible for latency-sensitive trading infrastructure.
• Architecting high-performance networks across exchange colocations, data centres and global WAN environments.
• Optimising network latency, routing, switching, traffic flows and overall infrastructure performance.
• Designing resilient network topologies with a focus on redundancy, fault tolerance and operational simplicity.
• Driving network automation through Python, infrastructure-as-code, automated provisioning and CI/CD.
• Building advanced telemetry, monitoring and diagnostic capabilities to identify performance bottlenecks.
• Leading network expansions, connectivity upgrades and complex infrastructure deployments.
• Troubleshooting critical production issues and improving network reliability.
• Working directly with trading, Linux and software engineering teams to solve performance-critical challenges.

What We're Looking For
