Zusammenfassung

Peabody Energy is seeking an experienced Longwall Mechanical Fitter to join the Centurion Mine team in Queensland. The role involves hands-on maintenance of longwall equipment, including shearers, AFCs and hydraulic roof supports, with a focus on reliability, safety and efficient operation.

You will collaborate with electricians, engineers and operators to minimise downtime, maintain service records and support preventative maintenance programs.

Qualifikationen

• Australian recognised Mechanical Trade Certificate.
• Proven mechanical experience with longwall systems in an underground coal mine.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and fault finding.
• Experience maintaining longwall equipment including shearers, AFCs, BSLs and hydraulic roof supports.
• Sound knowledge of hydraulic systems and underground equipment.
• Ability to work safely in confined spaces and challenging underground environments.
• Strong understanding of risk management and safety.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.

Aufgaben

• Perform inspections, maintenance and repairs on longwall equipment.
• Maintaining and troubleshooting complex hydraulic systems.
• Diagnosing mechanical faults and minimising downtime.
• Supporting longwall installation, maintenance and panel moves.
• Working with electricians, engineers and operators to ensure safety and reliability.
• Keeping accurate service records and maintenance history.
• Supporting preventative maintenance across the longwall system.
• Ensuring compliance with site policies and regulatory requirements.
• Contributing to a proactive safety culture and continuous improvement.
