Job summary

Murrin Murrin Operations is Australia’s largest cobalt producer and a major producer of nickel. The Logistics Superintendent will lead the Logistics Team and ensure logistics activities support production and business objectives.

You will develop and execute MMO's logistics strategy across road, rail, port and shipping, optimise costs, and negotiate COAs and freight service agreements to maintain uninterrupted supply chains and operational continuity.

Qualifications

• Experience leading negotiations and managing high value/complex agreements in mining or oil & gas.
• Experience with road, rail and shipping freight agreements.
• 5+ years in logistics leadership and complex contract management.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Murrin Murrin Operations has an opportunity for a Logistics Superintendent to join our established and dedicated team.

Murrin Murrin Operations is Australia’s largest cobalt producer and a major world producer of nickel. Our Murrin Murrin site in WA’s northern Goldfields is an integrated nickel and cobalt mining and processing operation employing over 1,000 people. The Role

The successful candidate will become a member of a hardworking and committed team who can provide leadership to the Logistics Team and ensures logistics activities support operational, inventory, production and business objectives.

• Developing and executing MMO's logistics strategy aligned with business objectives.
• Optimising logistics costs through freight market analysis, stockpileinventory optimisation and network design.
• Lead the MMO Logistics function and provide strategic direction across road, rail, port and shipping operations.
• Develop logistics strategies that support operational continuity and business objectives.
• Ensure uninterrupted supply of reagents, consumables and bulk materials to support production requirements.
• Manage the movement of inbound and outbound products through road, rail, port and marine logistics channels.
• Develop MMO's international shipping strategy for bulk commodities.
• Negotiate and manage Contracts of Affreightment (COAs) and freight service agreements.

About You

Reporting directly to the Supply Manager this role would suit a detailed and process oriented person, with experience in logistics, transport, shipping or supply chain management.

You will also have:

• Tertiary qualifications in Commerce or Supply & Logistics (preferred).
• Statutory Supervisor qualification is an inherent requirement of the role.
• At least five (5) years’ experience leading negotiations and managing high value / complex agreements (preferably within Mining or Oil & Gas).
• At least five (5) years’ experience in the operation of domestic and international road, rail and shipping freight agreements.
• Experience in the administration of bulk reagent agreements (preferred).
• A strong analytical mind with the ability to problem solve, identify trends and think logically with the ability to communicate with all internal and external stakeholders.
