Murrin Murrin Operations, part of Glencore, is recruiting a Logistics Superintendent to lead our logistics team in WA. You will shape strategies for road, rail, port and marine movements to support production and inventory objectives.

We seek a seasoned professional with strong negotiation skills, experience in mining logistics, and a track record of optimizing freight costs while ensuring supply continuity. This is a permanent, on-site role with robust benefits.

Qualifications

• Five years+ experience in logistics, transport, shipping or supply chain management.
• Statutory Supervisor qualification is required.
• Experience negotiating high value/complex agreements in mining/oil & gas preferred.
• Experience in domestic and international freight agreements.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute MMO's logistics strategy aligned with business objectives.
• Optimise logistics costs through freight market analysis, stockpile/inventory optimisation and network design.
• Lead the MMO Logistics function and provide strategic direction across road, rail, port and shipping operations.
• Develop logistics strategies to support operational continuity and business objectives.
• Ensure uninterrupted supply of reagents, consumables and bulk materials for production.
• Manage inbound/outbound product movements through road, rail, port and marine logistics channels.
• Develop MMO's international shipping strategy for bulk commodities.
• Negotiate and manage COAs and freight service agreements.

Murrin Murrin Operations has an opportunity for a Logistics Superintendent to join our established and dedicated team.

Murrin Murrin Operations is Australia’s largest cobalt producer and a major world producer of nickel. Our Murrin Murrin site in WA’s northern Goldfields is an integrated nickel and cobalt mining and processing operation employing over 1,000 people. The Role

The successful candidate will become a member of a hardworking and committed team who can provide leadership to the Logistics Team and ensures logistics activities support operational, inventory, production and business objectives.

You will be responsible for:

• Developing and executing MMO's logistics strategy aligned with business objectives.
• Optimising logistics costs through freight market analysis, stockpile\inventory optimisation and network design.
• Lead the MMO Logistics function and provide strategic direction across road, rail, port and shipping operations.
• Develop logistics strategies that support operational continuity and business objectives.
• Ensure uninterrupted supply of reagents, consumables and bulk materials to support production requirements.
• Manage the movement of inbound and outbound products through road, rail, port and marine logistics channels.
• Develop MMO's international shipping strategy for bulk commodities.
• Negotiate and manage Contracts of Affreightment (COAs) and freight service agreements.

About You

Reporting directly to the Supply Manager this role would suit a detailed and process oriented person, with experience in logistics, transport, shipping or supply chain management.

You will also have:

• Tertiary qualifications in Commerce or Supply & Logistics (preferred).
• Statutory Supervisor qualification is an inherent requirement of the role.
• At least five (5) years’ experience leading negotiations and managing high value / complex agreements (preferably within Mining or Oil & Gas).
• At least five (5) years’ experience in the operation of domestic and international road, rail and shipping freight agreements.
• Experience in the administration of bulk reagent agreements (preferred).
• A strong analytical mind with the ability to problem solve, identify trends and think logically with the ability to communicate with all internal and external stakeholders.
