Job summary

Randstad in Sydney is seeking a Logistics Specialist for cross-border import shipments (Air & Ocean) in a fast-paced, temporary role based in the Sydney CBD.

You will coordinate day-to-day movement, manage communications with carriers and internal stakeholders, and produce operational reports in Excel to support continuous improvement. This role offers exposure to a global logistics leader and a collaborative team focused on operational excellence.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in logistics, freight forwarding, or transport operations.
• Foundational understanding of cross-border Air and Ocean freight movements.
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel for operational reporting and data analysis.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a proven ability to deep dive into operational root causes.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Support end-to-end shipment management (Order-to-Arrival) for Air and Ocean B2B import shipments.
• Act as a central coordination point, managing day-to-day communications with external service providers and internal stakeholders.
• Handle operational inquiries, manage escalations in a timely manner, and resolve shipping defects.
• Utilize Intermediate Excel to create, analyze, and distribute operational performance reports and summaries.
• Investigate root causes of operational delays or issues to drive resolution.
• Support Kaizen and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.

Role Purpose

Reporting to the Regional Logistics Lead, the Cross-Border Transport Specialist is responsible for coordinating and supporting the day-to‑day movement of Air and Ocean import shipments from international origins into the APAC region.

Key Responsibilities
