Job summary

Leica Microsystems, based in Sydney, Australia, is seeking a Logistics Specialist to oversee daily warehouse and logistics operations in a permanent full-time, on-site role. You will manage domestic and international shipments, inventory integrity, demo unit control, and freight coordination, with a strong emphasis on safety and regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate has at least 3 years in logistics and warehouse operations, SAP/ERP experience, and knowledge of import/export compliance.

80% office/SAP/administration and 20% warehouse duties.

The Logistics Specialist is responsible for overseeing day-to-day warehouse and logistics operations, including domestic and international shipments, inventory integrity, demo unit control, freight coordination, and compliance with safety, trade, and regulatory requirements. This role plays a key part in supporting on-time delivery, maintaining audit readiness, and driving continuous improvement through the Danaher Business System.

This position reports to the Financial Controller and is located in Sydney, Australia, and will be an on-site role.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

Coordinate domestic and international shipments, including imports and exports, monitor shipment status and proactively resolve delivery issues. High value shipments involved, shipping value can range from AUD $20 to AUD $1million.

Maintain inventory integrity and equipment accountability through annual stocktakes, cycle counts, demo unit tracking, documentation, and timely investigation of discrepancies.

Ensure warehouse activities comply with safety, trade, regulatory, audit, and Danaher Business System requirements, including 5S practices and continuous improvement initiatives.

The essential requirements of the job include:

3 years of experience in logistics and warehouse operations.

SAP and big ERP experience.

Working knowledge of import/export and trade compliance requirements, with strong attention to detail, planning, and communication skills.

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:

Ability to travel occasionally for business needs, including supplier, freight forwarder, or company site visits as required.

Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record, if required to operate company or rental vehicles.

Ability to work in a warehouse environment and lift, move, or carry equipment in line with applicable workplace health and safety requirements.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

Experience in the medical device industry.

3PL management

Dangerous Goods Handling license for air and sea freight.
