Job summary

Woolworths Group is seeking a Logistic Network Lead for a 12-month secondment based in Surry Hills. The role focuses on strategic and economic assessments of network opportunities, balancing profitability with customer speed and convenience across online grocery fulfilment.

You will develop data-driven solutions with Excel and SQL, collaborate with operations, commercial teams and state groups, and lead capacity planning and reporting to senior management.

About this role

As online grocery fulfillment shifts across multi-tiered assets—ranging from capital-heavy automated Customer Fulfillment Centers (CFCs) to localised Store options—unregulated network demand degrades profitability. This role is vital because it determines how, when, and where Woolworths exposes fulfillment availability to the consumer.

Through tiered service strategies, window display rules, and fleet optimisations, this role ensures the network "sweats its assets" effectively, actively shifting volume to the most profitable fulfillment modes while protecting the baseline customer promise of speed and convenience.

What you will do

Provide strategic and economic assessments of potential network opportunities and risks, working collaboratively with operations and commercial teams. Develop solutions to be implemented for the online delivery and collection network, with close attention to benefits and potential trade-offs.

Act as a key liaison across all related operational, logistics, and development functions to deliver cost-effective solutions.

What you will bring

Analyse network data to identify opportunities to leverage innovation supporting cost-efficiency solutions and customer experience enhancements.

Manage capacity across all eCom fulfilment propositions in a state group.

Play a lead role in strategic network initiatives.

Develop robust but flexible analysis models using MS Excel and SQL.Prepare and present regular reports and updates to senior management on the performance of the logistics network and recommendations for optimisation.

Support in the planning and day-to-day operation of the team by facilitating weekly planning/capacity forums, and assist in building out quarterly targets with state operations, transport, and individual store teams.

Required

Skills & Experience

At least 3–4 years of logistics network analytics, supply chain, retail, or eCommerce experience. A sound understanding of retail and logistics fundamentals.

Ability to work autonomously to deliver pieces of work and manage multiple parties through the duration of engagements.

Strong analytical skills (proficient in Excel and SQL).Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.

Nice to have

Strong domain knowledge will be considered a huge advantage.
