Health Workforce is sourcing a Vocationally registered Medical Practitioner for Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation locations in Queensland. Locum arrangements (short or long-term) are available with daily rate of $1,500 Mon-Thu and $187.50 hourly on Fridays.

Qualifications

• Vocationally registered medical practitioner with the Medical Board of Australia.
• Current unrestricted AHPRA registration.
• Current medical indemnity insurance.
• Current National Police Check.
• Eligibility for an unrestricted Medicare Provider Number.
• Minimum two COVID-19 vaccinations.
• Understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health and a commitment to working within an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service.
• Commitment to the philosophy and practice of Aboriginal Community Control.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Experience in Chronic Disease Management.
• Understanding of case management principles.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Commitment to patient-centred care.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to work independently and prioritise competing demands.

Responsabilités

• Provide high-quality clinical care in accordance with best practice standards and the organisation's model of care.
• Undertake health assessments, diagnosis and treatment of patients.
• Deliver and oversee comprehensive preventive health assessments and care plans in line with MBS requirements.
• Provide leadership and support to the multidisciplinary team in coordinating care for patients with complex chronic health needs.
• Order and review diagnostic tests and communicate results in accordance with practice procedures.
• Maintain knowledge of relevant legislation and general practice standards.
• Maintain a CPR certificate.
• Practice medicine in a manner aligned with the organisation's values and mission.
• Build and maintain professional relationships with patients.
• Provide culturally safe and respectful care that recognises patient needs and beliefs.
• Optimise Medicare billing opportunities in line with organisational policies.
• Prepare reports and documentation required by external agencies including WorkCover and Centrelink.
• Complete documentation accurately and within required timeframes.
• Support the safety and quality of clinical services provided by the health team.
