This organisation is an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Organisation. Their objective is to provide increased access to quality primary health care and social and emotional wellbeing services to communities across the South Burnett region. They operate practices in Cherbourg, Wondai and Kingaroy.
Provide high-quality clinical care in accordance with best practice standards and the organisation's model of care.
Undertake health assessments, diagnosis and treatment of patients.
Deliver and oversee comprehensive preventive health assessments and care plans in line with MBS requirements.
Provide leadership and support to the multidisciplinary team in coordinating care for patients with complex chronic health needs.
Order and review diagnostic tests and communicate results in accordance with practice procedures.
Maintain knowledge of relevant legislation and general practice standards.
Maintain a current cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certificate.
Practice medicine in a manner aligned with the organisation's values and mission.
Build and maintain professional relationships with patients.
Provide culturally safe and respectful care that recognises the needs and beliefs of patients.
Optimise Medicare billing opportunities in line with organisational policies.
Prepare reports and documentation required by external agencies including WorkCover and Centrelink.
Complete documentation accurately and within required timeframes.
Support the safety and quality of clinical services provided by the health team.
Vocationally registered medical practitioner with the Medical Board of Australia.
Current unrestricted AHPRA registration.
Current medical indemnity insurance.
Current National Police Check.
Eligibility for an unrestricted Medicare Provider Number.
Minimum two COVID-19 vaccinations.
Understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health and a commitment to working within an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service.
Commitment to the philosophy and practice of Aboriginal Community Control.
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Experience in Chronic Disease Management.
Understanding of case management principles.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Commitment to patient-centred care.
Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to work independently and prioritise competing demands.
