Job summary

Grampians Health in Ballarat is seeking a Project Lead - Lived Experience for the Grampians Integrated Cancer Services. This fixed term part-time role (12 months, 24 hours per week) starts early 2027 and offers salary of $48.87 per hour (HS5).

The role focuses on embedding lived experience in cancer service improvement across Victoria’s ICS network. The ideal candidate has lived experience with cancer, strong project management, and a track record of leading change.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in a relevant field with more than three years of experience in health or a related sector.
• Lived experience as a person with cancer or carer for a person with cancer.
• Demonstrated skills, knowledge and behaviour in leading successful change initiatives.
• Proven ability to develop, manage and strengthen collaborative relationships with multidisciplinary teams, health services, consumers and external partners, supported by communication, negotiation and influencing skills.

Responsibilities

• Builds on the existing approach to consumer engagement through the GICS Consumer Advisory Group to increase capacity and support inclusion of lived experience throughout the GICS program of work including recruitment and support of lived experience partners.
• Provide lived experience subject matter expertise and work with the GICS team to ensure integration of lived experience perspectives in cancer system reform.
• Provide advice around design and co production of services that are responsive to identified areas for improvement incorporating lived experience insights to improve treatment and outcomes.
• Program management, coordination and evaluation of interventions aimed at integrating lived experience insights into service improvement activities.
