Job summary

Communify is seeking a Peer Services Guide for the MHCP pilot in Redcliffe, Queensland. This role blends non-clinical peer practice with collaboration within a mental health team to strengthen support, voice, and self-determination for participants.

The guide uses lived experience to help participants engage with appointments, navigate services, and access warm referrals while upholding dignity and boundaries in a flexible, supportive workplace.

Qualifications

• Personal lived experience of mental health challenges and recovery as essential qualification.
• Ability to build genuine peer relationships while maintaining boundaries and wellbeing.
• Understanding of peer practice principles: mutuality, self-determination, dignity of risk, power-sharing.
• Experience providing person-driven peer support to people in distress or navigating services.

Responsibilities

• Provide relational, non-clinical peer support to participants in MHCP.
• Assist participants to prepare for appointments and attend case conferences.
• Support service navigation and warm referrals to suitable mental health and community services.
• Collaborate with GP and other professionals to strengthen care coordination.
