Job summary

Dubbo Regional Council is seeking a Functions Officer for the Dubbo Regional Theatre and Convention Centre. You will set up, coordinate on‑the‑floor activities, and support clients to deliver memorable event experiences across Dubbo and Wellington.

You’ll be part of a dynamic team, assisting with conferences, performances and community events while maintaining high presentation standards and safety on site.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Experience supporting events, including set up and pack down.
• Attention to detail and ability to complete administrative tasks.
• Ability to troubleshoot and take initiative during live events.
• Experience with bar operations and POS systems.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Bringing events to life through hands‑on set up, pack down and on‑the‑floor coordination.
• Acting as the Duty Person, ensuring events run smoothly and safely.
• Supporting clients and responding to their needs in real time to deliver exceptional outcomes.
• Ensuring venues and surrounding areas are presented to a high standard before, during and after events.
• Completing event reports and reconciliations accurately.
• Liaising with clients to collate and maintain accurate event details in operating systems.
• Providing friendly, professional customer service in person, over the phone and via email.
