Job summary

Sunshine Coast Regional Council is seeking a Literacy Services Officer to deliver literacy programs across the Sunshine Coast, working with learners, volunteer tutors, community organisations and library staff to coordinate programs and provide administrative support.

This permanent, part-time role offers opportunities to build partnerships, support adult learners and contribute to an inclusive learning environment, with a hybrid WFH arrangement and pro-rata salary range.

Qualifications

• Qualifications or equivalent experience in adult literacy, teaching, education or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience in adult literacy education and working with diverse community groups.
• Strong organisational and communication skills with the ability to work independently and with volunteers.

About the Role

As a Literacy Services Officer, you will play a key role in delivering literacy programs that support adult learners across the Sunshine Coast. Working closely with learners, volunteer tutors, community organisations and library staff, you will help coordinate programs, facilitate learning opportunities, provide administrative support, and build meaningful partnerships. About You

Passionate about literacy and learning

You bring qualifications or equivalent experience in adult literacy, teaching, education or a related field, along with a genuine desire to help people achieve positive learning outcomes.

Experienced and community focused

You have demonstrated experience in adult literacy education and enjoy working with learners, volunteers and diverse community groups to create supportive and engaging learning experiences.

Organised and adaptable

You possess strong organisational and time management skills, can manage multiple priorities effectively, and work confidently both independently and collaboratively.

A skilled communicator

You have excellent customer service and communication skills, exercise sound judgement, and are confident using Microsoft Office and information management systems to deliver professional outcomes.
