Job summary

St Elizabeth's in Melbourne seeks a Generalist teacher with a POL 1 literacy leader role. The position is fulltime, split as 2 days literacy leader (FTE .40) and 2 days literacy intervention teaching (FTE .40), emphasizing contemporary teaching and team collaboration.

The successful applicant will lead learning with a strong data focus, use explicit teaching strategies, and deliver programs such as UFLI, Heggerty, MiniLit and MaquLit, while aligning with MACS Vision for Instruction.

Qualifications

• Experience with Victorian Curriculum and program planning.
• Full VIT registration and ability to teach Religious Education in a Catholic school.
• Commitment to safety and wellbeing of children.
• Ability to lead literacy initiatives and collaborate with staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead 2 x 0.40 FTE literacy leadership and 2 x 0.40 FTE literacy intervention teaching.
• Collaboratively plan and deliver high‑quality literacy programs.
• Gather and analyse formal/informal data to improve practice and outcomes (DIBELS, PAT‑R, NAPLAN).
• Implement explicit teaching strategies and evidence‑based literacy blocks.
• Engage with the Catholic school ethos and support student wellbeing.
