Job summary

NW People is seeking an experienced Linux Technician to support a major naval ICT modernisation program. You will develop, build, and maintain secure ICT systems for naval platforms and onshore environments, providing Linux expertise across diverse environments.

You will implement automated builds, refine configuration management, and document procedures while collaborating with technical and project teams to meet Defence security requirements.

Qualifications

• Previous experience supporting Defence environments as a Linux Technician.
• Strong experience with Linux servers in virtualised, containerised and distributed setups.
• Hands-on knowledge of RHEL 7-9, Ansible, GitLab, YUM and Elastic Stack (ELK).

You will bring:

• Hands-on knowledge of RHEL 7-9, Ansible, GitLab, YUM and Elastic Stack (ELK).
• Experience applying Linux hardening practices and Defence security requirements.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with technical and business stakeholders.

Knowledge of naval ICT systems, the Australian Government Information Security Manual (ISM), zero-trust principles and the constraints of deployed Defence environments will be highly regarded.
