Job summary

Tech Mahindra in Sydney, NSW is seeking a seasoned Linux Systems Engineer to automate, secure, and optimize complex Linux environments. You’ll design and maintain RHEL/Ubuntu distributions, implement IaC with Ansible or Terraform, and support hybrid cloud and Kubernetes workloads.

Ideal candidates have 4+ years of Linux engineering, strong scripting in Bash or Python, and solid networking knowledge. RHCE/LFCE certifications are a plus.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of Linux Systems Engineering or advanced administration experience.
• Strong Bash or Python scripting skills.
• Experience with Ansible or Terraform for IaC.
• Knowledge of networking, firewalls, and filesystems.

Responsibilities

• Automate tasks using Bash, Python, and Ansible.
• Architect and maintain enterprise Linux distributions.
• Support Linux workloads in hybrid cloud and Kubernetes environments.
• Troubleshoot system, network, and storage bottlenecks.
• Perform patching, system hardening, and vulnerability remediation.

What You’ll Do:

• Automate Everything: Eliminate manual work using Bash, Python, and Ansible.
• Manage Infrastructure: Architect and maintain enterprise distributions like RHEL and Ubuntu.
• Cloud & Containers: Support Linux workloads across hybrid cloud and Kubernetes environments.
• Optimize Performance: Troubleshoot deep system, network, and storage bottlenecks.
• Secure the Fort: Execute patch management, system hardening, and vulnerability remediation.

What We’re Looking For:

• 4+ years of experience in Linux Systems Engineering or Advanced Administration.
• Strong scripting skills (Bash or Python are a must).
• Experience with configuration management and IaC (Ansible or Terraform).
• Deep understanding of networking protocols, firewalls, and file systems.
• Bonus points for active certifications like RHCE or LFCE!
