Job summary

Team Global Express is seeking experienced MC Drivers to join the Straightline team in Australia. The role covers local transport, heavy haulage and specialised project work with a competitive hourly rate and long-distance allowances.

Perth-based candidates are preferred, but travel and extended away-from-home work are expected on occasion. The work is varied across different customers, locations and equipment, including oversize loads and PBS gear.

Qualifications

• Unrestricted MC licence preferred, but candidates with the right experience may be considered and supported to obtain this.
• Proven ability to operate safely and professionally to a high standard.
• Experience in heavy haulage, oversized loads and/or specialised transport.

Responsibilities

• Operate MC combinations across local, heavy haulage and specialised transport work.
• Transport oversized and specialised loads using floats, drop decks, ramp trailers, extendable trailers, deck wideners, sidelifters and PBS equipment.
• Complete local and interstate site-to-site and wharf-to-site movements.
• Undertake occasional day trips, returning home each night.
• Undertake overnight, multi-day and FIFO assignments as required.
• Safely load, restrain, transport and unload specialised equipment.
• Work across customer sites, mine sites and other project locations.
• Comply with load restraint, fatigue management and site safety requirements.

About the role

Team Global Express is seeking experienced full time MC Drivers to join our Straightline team, supporting a mix of local transport, heavy haulage and specialised project work. $37.6745 per hour for local work $0.6581 per km for applicable long-distance work Plus applicable Long Distance Award allowances. Ideally, candidates will be based in Perth; however, we are open to experienced drivers based in other locations who are comfortable travelling and spending extended periods away from home when required. This is not your typical scheduled linehaul role. The work is varied, with different customers, locations, equipment and projects depending on operational requirements. Work may include local site-to-site and wharf-to-site movements, oversized and heavy haulage, as well as overnight, multi-day and FIFO assignments. We are ideally looking for drivers who are flexible and willing to undertake a variety of work, including those with a strong background in specific areas of transport.

What you’ll do

What you’ll bring

• Competency operating Road Ranger gearboxes
• Strong knowledge and practical experience in load restraint
• Familiarity with mine site safety requirements
• Dangerous Goods (DG) licence/experience highly regarded
• Experience with sidelifters, drop decks and PBS combinations highly regarded
• Experience loading and unloading heavy equipment such as loaders, excavators/diggers, rock trucks, water carts and graders highly regarded
• Flexibility to travel and spend extended periods away from home when required
• Strong safety focus and ability to work independently
