Job summary

Hi-Trans Express in Melbourne is seeking an experienced PM Linehaul Loader to join our operations team at the Chelsea Heights depot. Immediate start available for a hands-on Linehaul loading role.

The PM shift runs 1:00pm–9:06pm. You will safely load interstate Linehaul trailers, manage load distribution, and ensure on-time departures while maintaining safety and accuracy in every task.

Qualifications

• Current LF forklift licence is required.
• Minimum 2 years' recent Linehaul loading experience.
• Proven experience loading interstate Linehaul trailers.
• Strong understanding of Linehaul load distribution.
• Experience handling oversized freight.
• Experience handling dangerous goods.
• Good understanding of load restraint requirements.
• Ability to work efficiently under time pressures.
• Strong attention to detail and freight scanning accuracy.
• Commitment to safety.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a forklift to load and unload freight.
• Load outgoing Linehaul trailers efficiently and safely.
• Ensure freight is correctly positioned and distributed.
• Scan and stage freight for Linehaul departure.
• Unload local PUD freight.
• Handle pallets, oversized freight and dangerous goods.
• Open and close tautliner trailers and gates.
• Apply load restraint and strapping in accordance with requirements.
• Ensure freight is secured and compliant with load restraint standards.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised depot.
• Assist with general depot duties as required.

We are currently seeking an experienced PM Linehaul Loader to join our operations team at our Chelsea Heights depot in Melbourne.

The Role

PM Shift - 1:00pm - 9:06pm
Generous remuneration offered, based on experience and Linehaul loading capability.

This is a hands-on Linehaul loading role. We are looking for someone with proven experience loading interstate Linehaul trailers who understands freight distribution, load restraint and the importance of getting freight safely and efficiently out on time.

• Safely operate a forklift to load and unload freight
• Load outgoing Linehaul trailers efficiently and safely
• Ensure freight is correctly positioned and distributed throughout the trailer
• Scan and accurately stage freight for Linehaul departure
• Unload local PUD freight
• Handle pallets, oversized freight and dangerous goods
• Open and close tautliner trailers and gates
• Apply load restraint and strapping in accordance with requirements
• Ensure freight is secured and compliant with load restraint standards
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised depot
• Assist with general depot duties as required

To Be Successful You Will Have

• Current LF Forklift Licence

We are specifically looking for applicants with genuine Linehaul loading experience. General warehouse or forklift experience alone will not be sufficient.

Additional Requirements

• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical
• Ability to pass a national police check
• Full working rights in Australia
