Job summary

Geelong Careers is seeking a skilled Cook in Victoria, Torquay, to join a fast-paced hospitality team. You will prepare and cook a variety of dishes, maintain kitchen standards, and help deliver exceptional dining experiences in line with the menu.

The role requires experience in a high-volume kitchen, strong knife skills, knowledge of food safety and sanitation, and the ability to work flexibly, including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• Experience in high-volume restaurant or food service.
• Proficient knife skills and cooking methods.
• Knowledge of HACCP and food safety standards.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Able to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook various dishes, including appetizers, entrées, and desserts.
• Maintain clean, organized, and productive work areas.
• Train and mentor kitchen staff.
• Develop and contribute to new menu items.
• Ensure food quality and presentation.
• Adhere to HACCP and sanitation standards.
• Collaborate with management to run an efficient kitchen.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
