Job summary

The Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre is seeking an LIS Support Officer to help operate, maintain and optimise the Laboratory Information System (Auslab) across Public Pathology Victoria. You will collaborate with laboratory, clinical and ICT teams to ensure system reliability, data integrity and high-quality patient care.

Ideal candidates will have pathology, health informatics or IT support experience, strong analytical and communication skills, and familiarity with AUSLAB Evolution LIMS to be

Qualifications

• Experience working within pathology, laboratory information systems, health informatics or IT support environments.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to support both technical and non-technical users.
• Experience maintaining system documentation, testing activities and change implementation processes.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively both autonomously and as part of a team.
• Experience with AUSLAB Evolution LIMS will be highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Provide operational support and issue resolution for the Laboratory Information System (Auslab)
• Assist with system configuration, maintenance, testing and implementation activities
• Support data integrity, reporting and data extraction activities
• Maintain system documentation, procedures and job‑tracking records
• Work collaboratively with laboratory, clinical and ICT stakeholders to deliver effective solutions
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and system optimisation projects
• Provide high-quality customer service while prioritising workflow based on clinical needs
