Job summary

Healius is transforming diagnostic services in Australia. As a Laboratory Assistant, you will correctly receive and register specimens, enter data into lab systems and dispatch samples to core laboratories within tight timeframes.

Ideally you have lab exposure or healthcare experience, with strong attention to detail and the ability to follow structured processes in a busy environment. A supportive team and career growth opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a laboratory is desirable but not essential.
• A certificate in pathology and/or a certificate or diploma in laboratory skills/techniques is desirable but not essential.
• A background in healthcare, data entry or roles requiring high levels of accuracy and attention to detail is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Receive, check and process specimens with a high level of accuracy.
• Complete data entry and registration of specimens into laboratory systems.
• Prepare and dispatch specimens to core laboratories within required timeframes.
• Manage enquiries via phone and shared mailboxes, escalating where required.
• Coordinate urgent specimen handling and courier collections.
• Maintain laboratory records, storage and filing processes.
• Participate in routine quality activities and follow laboratory procedures.
• Ensure compliance with WHS policies and maintain a safe working environment.
