Job summary

Bondys Auto Centre is seeking a skilled Light Vehicle Motor Mechanic in Jamisontown, NSW for a full-time role. You will diagnose mechanical and electrical faults, perform repairs and maintenance, and ensure safety and performance before vehicles leave the workshop.

This hands-on role requires proficiency with diagnostic equipment and modern tools, a valid driver’s licence, strong problem-solving and customer-service skills, and a commitment to health and safety.

Qualifications

• Current automotive mechanic qualifications or equivalent demonstrated experience in light vehicle servicing and repairs.
• Proven experience as a motor mechanic, preferably specialising in light vehicles.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle mechanical, electrical and diagnostic systems.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment and modern workshop tools.
• Valid driver's licence with a clean driving record.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and customer service abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Commitment to workplace health and safety practices.
• Relevant certifications such as Light Vehicle Mechanical Trade Certificate or equivalent qualifications are highly desirable

Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in light vehicles using diagnostic equipment and technical expertise
• Perform routine maintenance tasks including oil changes, filter replacements, fluid top-ups and tyre servicing
• Repair and replace faulty components such as brakes, suspension systems, engines and transmissions
• Conduct vehicle inspections and identify any safety concerns or potential issues
• Complete accurate job sheets and maintain detailed records of all work performed
• Communicate clearly with customers regarding repair findings, timelines and costs
• Ensure all work is completed to manufacturer specifications and industry standards
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment in accordance with health and safety regulations
• Assist in training and mentoring junior team members as required
