Qualifications

• Current or relevant light vehicle mechanical qualifications (such as an automotive trade certificate or equivalent).
• Proven experience working as a light vehicle technician or mechanic in a professional workshop setting.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle mechanical systems, diagnostics, and repair procedures.
• Competency with diagnostic equipment and workshop tools.
• Valid driver's licence and reliable transport to and from work.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and customer service orientation.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in light vehicles using diagnostic equipment and technical knowledge.
• Perform routine servicing including oil changes, filter replacements, fluid top-ups, and tyre rotations.
• Repair and replace vehicle components such as brakes, suspension, batteries, alternators, and belts.
• Conduct vehicle inspections and safety checks in accordance with Australian standards.
• Maintain accurate service records and documentation for all work completed.
• Communicate effectively with customers about repair requirements, timelines, and costs.
• Operate and maintain workshop equipment and tools responsibly.
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations and workshop procedures.
• Contribute to a safe and collaborative workshop environment.

About the role
